Aurora Solutions

Aurora Solutions was established in 2009. Its development center is in Gulberg Greens, Islamabad, where its engineering team works, and the company also lists an office in Stockholm, Sweden. Its own figures describe a team of more than 30 people in Islamabad.

The company builds custom software, web applications and mobile apps, with DevOps, quality assurance, security and UI and UX design alongside. Much of its work is with startups taking a product from a first version to growth: it says its startup clients have raised more than 40 million US dollars between them, and that its average client engagement lasts more than three years.

Aurora has its roots in financial technology. Early on it built algorithmic, high-frequency and electronic trading software, trading platform connectors and plug-ins, and backtesting tools, working with C#, C++, Java, MATLAB, R and the FIX protocol. Its current offer is broader and also takes in enterprise platforms such as Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics 365, along with cloud work.

The company reports more than 400 completed projects for more than 50 clients. Published client feedback, including from the software marketplace company AppDirect, points to a team that adopts the client's own development processes rather than imposing its own.

As a small company, Aurora suits startups and product teams that want a stable group of engineers who stay on the product for years. It is less suited to programmes that need dozens of people at once.
