About Arbisoft
Arbisoft was founded in 2007 by Yasser Bashir, who leads it as chief executive, together with a small group of colleagues that included Umair Shah and Rizwan Aslam. Bashir studied at LUMS and Stanford and had worked at Align Technology before starting the company. What began as a three-person team in Lahore grew into one of the largest software houses in the city.
Its main engineering office is on Canal Road in Lahore. The company also has a corporate presence in McKinney, Texas, and has had people in Australia and Malaysia. Published figures for its team range from more than 750 specialists to more than 900 engineers.
Arbisoft is a services company rather than a product company, and Bashir has said that was deliberate: the founders wanted to work on a wide variety of computing problems instead of one product. Its work covers custom software, web and mobile applications, cloud applications, data services and automated data collection, machine learning and AI, and software quality assurance. It works with Python heavily and also offers dedicated teams that work as an extension of a client's own engineering group.
Today the company describes its focus as design-led products built on open source and accelerated by AI, with most of its long-running work in EdTech, healthcare and travel. It says products it has helped build are used by hundreds of millions of people.
Arbisoft organises itself as a network of independent, cross-functional teams. That structure tends to suit clients who want a stable team for a long product roadmap rather than a short, fixed-scope build.
