Cubix

Cubix was founded in 2008 by Salman Lakhani, who still leads it as chief executive. Its engineering base is in Karachi, and it lists further offices in West Palm Beach, Florida, in Manchester in the United Kingdom, and in Dubai.

The company says it has around 350 specialists across those four offices and has shipped more than 1,300 products over 18 years.

Its core work is custom software, mobile apps for iOS and Android, and product development for startups taking a first version to market. Game development is a large second line of business, and the company also offers blockchain, AR and VR, and AI work as separate practices.

Cubix works with startups, small and medium businesses and larger enterprises. It has named clients including PayPal, Tissot, Estee Lauder, Politico, Walmart, Sapient and Canon.

For buyers, the mix matters. A firm that runs a games studio alongside enterprise software tends to be strongest on consumer-facing apps where design, performance and engagement carry the product. Projects that are mainly back-office integration may be better served by a firm whose portfolio is weighted that way, so it is worth asking Cubix for case studies close to your own project.
