About Emumba
Emumba was founded in 2011 by Owais Anjum, who leads it as chief executive. It started as a product company with two products of its own: Cricout, a social network built around cricket, and PatientsWithPower, a platform for cancer patients and treatment hospitals. Both worked technically and neither succeeded commercially, and in 2015 the company moved into software services.
Its headquarters and engineering team are in Islamabad, on Korang Road in I-10/3, and it also uses a Santa Clara, California address for its US business. The company says it now has more than 250 people, and its leadership includes engineers with long Silicon Valley careers.
Emumba organises its work into four areas: front ends, dashboards and data visualisation, where it has built its own dashboarding framework called K2; back-end and data engineering; quality assurance with a strong focus on automated testing; and DevOps and cloud infrastructure. More recent work covers generative AI, data discovery and cataloguing, data platforms and zero trust security. It is an AWS partner.
Most of its clients are in the United States, with a smaller group in the United Kingdom. Named clients include Microsoft, Salesforce, Twitch, Saudi Business Machines, A10 Networks, Aera Technology and Extreme Networks.
The product-company background shows in how it works: product design and user experience carry the same weight as engineering. That suits enterprise teams building complex, data-heavy applications that still need to be easy to use.
