About ASUS

ASUS is primarily a computing company. It is one of the largest makers of motherboards and graphics cards in the world - components that end up inside machines carrying other companies' names - and sells laptops across the range, from thin ultraportables to the Republic of Gamers line. Its phone business is small by comparison and interesting for two reasons. ROG Phone is one of the few serious attempts at a gaming handset, with shoulder triggers, cooling accessories and a refresh rate aimed at competitive play. Zenfone went the other way: while every other manufacturer grew, ASUS kept shipping a flagship that fits in one hand, which made it the default recommendation for a shrinking but vocal group of buyers. The company was founded in 1989 in Taipei by four engineers who had left Acer, starting with motherboards. It is headquartered in the Beitou district of the city.
