About OPPO
OPPO sells phones across the range, from budget handsets to folding flagships, and is strongest in China, South East Asia and India. Its most recognisable piece of engineering is charging: the VOOC fast-charging system has repeatedly shipped speeds ahead of what the rest of the market offered, and the technology is licensed to other manufacturers. The range is organised around two lines. Find is the flagship, including the book-style folding Find N. Reno sits below it as the upper mid-range, where camera and design carry more weight than raw performance. Two other well-known brands sit under OPPO. OnePlus was founded in 2013 by a former OPPO vice president and is reported as an OPPO subsidiary. realme, founded in 2018 by another former OPPO executive, returned to OPPO as a sub-brand in January 2026. Both keep their own identities, their own audiences and their own product lines. The company was founded in 2004 in Dongguan, Guangdong by Chen Mingyong, also known as Tony Chen, and is still headquartered there. It is widely reported to belong to the same group as vivo, under the BBK Electronics name; the two operate as distinct businesses, and the exact corporate relationship above them is not publicly established.
