There is no announcement. Samsung has said nothing about a Galaxy S27 Plus: no name, no date, no specification, no price. Everything circulating is a leak, and none of it is repeated here. What this page can do is describe the slot the Plus occupies, because that slot has been stable for years and is the hardest one in Samsung's range to justify. The Plus is the middle model of the Galaxy S generation, offering a larger screen and a larger battery than the base phone, without the camera hardware, the S Pen or the Privacy Display that separate the Ultra. The current model is the Galaxy S26 Plus, announced in February 2026 and released in March 2026 at 1,099.99 dollars. Samsung has launched a Galaxy S generation at an Unpacked event in late January or February every year since 2022.

What Samsung has confirmed about a Galaxy S27 Plus

Nothing. Samsung has not named the phone, has not dated it, has not confirmed a chipset and has not priced it.

The launch window is the only element with a real record behind it. Samsung has held an Unpacked event and launched a Galaxy S generation, Plus model included, in late January or February every year since 2022. A first quarter 2027 launch is a fair reading of that record and is not a commitment.

There is one open question worth more than any leaked specification, which is whether a Plus model appears at all. Samsung has adjusted the middle of this range before, and independent reviewers have been questioning the Plus for several generations. Nothing suggests Samsung has dropped it, but a page cannot promise a phone that has not been announced.

The Galaxy S26 Plus, which is the phone on sale

Samsung announced the S26 Plus in February 2026 and released it in March 2026 at 1,099.99 dollars, which Android Central notes is 100 dollars more than its predecessor, with 256GB now the base storage.

The display is a 6.7 inch Dynamic AMOLED at 1440 by 3120. The body is 7.3mm thick and weighs 190g, with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 front and back.

The chipset is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in the United States and the Exynos 2600 in some international versions, with 12GB of memory and storage up to 512GB.

The rear cameras are a 50MP main, a 10MP telephoto at 3x optical and a 12MP ultra wide, with a 12MP front camera. The battery is 4,900mAh, charging at 45W wired, which GSMArena measures at 69 percent in 30 minutes, and 20W wireless.

It runs One UI 8.5 on Android 16, with seven years of operating system upgrades. Samsung DeX and ultra wideband are included.

The problem with the middle model

The Plus is the model buyers regret most often, and the reason is arithmetic rather than quality.

Against the base Galaxy S it adds screen size and battery capacity for 200 dollars. It does not add camera hardware, it does not add memory, and it shares the processor. If you do not specifically want a larger phone, that is 200 dollars for size.

Against the Ultra it saves 200 dollars and gives up the things that make the Ultra an Ultra: the longer optical zoom, the S Pen and the Privacy Display. Buyers who can stretch to the Plus can usually stretch to the Ultra, and the Ultra is the phone that actually does something different.

Android Central puts it plainly, describing the base model as better value for budget conscious buyers and the Ultra as justifying its premium, while the Plus occupies an awkward middle ground without compelling differentiation.

That criticism has followed the Plus across generations, and it is the single most useful thing to know before waiting for the next one.

What to weigh it against

The first comparison is the previous generation Plus, discounted. Because the year on year changes in this line have been modest, last year's Plus at a reduced price is frequently the better purchase, and it is the comparison Samsung would rather you did not make.

Android Central is direct about how modest those changes have been on the current generation, noting no Qi2 magnets despite the rumours, minimal camera upgrades with the base models using sensors from the Galaxy S22, and design changes that are largely cosmetic.

Outside Samsung, the large Pixel and the standard iPhone Pro sit at similar money. The Pixel competes on camera processing, and the iPhone on video and on resale value.

Inside Samsung, the Galaxy Z Flip is worth a look if the appeal of the Plus is that it feels like a substantial phone, and the Galaxy A range covers the same screen size for far less if the screen is the actual requirement.

Who should buy something else

Most people considering a Plus should buy the base Galaxy S. Unless you specifically want the larger body, you are paying 200 dollars for screen size and battery, with the same chip and the same cameras.

If photography is the reason for the purchase, buy the Ultra or buy a Pixel. The Plus has a 10MP telephoto at 3x, which is not a reach advantage over much cheaper phones.

If you want the S Pen, only the Ultra has it. No Plus has ever carried one.

If you already own a recent Plus, the independent reading of the current generation is that the changes are cosmetic and incremental, so waiting for a Galaxy S27 Plus to replace an S25 Plus or S26 Plus is unlikely to be rewarded.

If magnetic charging accessories matter, note that Samsung still has not built magnets into these phones.

And if you are waiting on leaked Galaxy S27 Plus specifications, remember that the phone has not been acknowledged by Samsung at all.
