Jobber makes the software a home service business runs its day on. A plumber, landscaper or cleaning company quotes a job, schedules it, dispatches whoever is nearest, invoices when it is done and collects the payment - and before software like this, most of that happened on paper, in a phone's call history, and in the owner's head. The category matters more than it sounds. These are businesses too small to buy field service management software built for utilities, and too operationally complex to run on a calendar and a spreadsheet. That gap is the whole company. Jobber was founded in 2011 by Sam Pillar and Forrest Zeisler, who met as freelance software developers in an Edmonton cafe, and it is still based there. Its USD 100 million Series D, led by General Atlantic, was reported by CBC as the largest venture capital investment in Edmonton's history.
