Codup was co-founded in 2012 and its engineering team works from Karachi. The company also operates from Houston, Texas, where much of its client relationship work sits. Asim Bawany is its co-founder and chief executive.

Its main focus is B2B ecommerce for manufacturers and distributors. That means online stores built around the way trade buyers actually purchase: quote processing, catalogue management, organisational roles and permissions, custom order flows, split shipments, and connectors into ERP and CRM systems so orders do not have to be keyed in twice.

Codup builds on WooCommerce and Shopify and describes itself as an official partner of Shopify Plus, HubSpot and BigCommerce. Much of the B2B work is customisation, because neither WooCommerce nor Shopify handles trade pricing, approvals and account hierarchies fully out of the box.

Beyond commerce, the company takes on custom application development, middleware and business process automation, web and mobile development, UI and UX design, cloud hosting and DevOps. It also supplies engineers on a staff augmentation basis to companies that want developers working inside their own team.

Its front-end work commonly uses React, Angular and Vue, with Node.js, PHP and Python on the back end. Codup reports a team in the 100 to 249 range, and other published profiles put it at more than 150 engineers and support staff.
