About iQOO

iQOO is owned by vivo. It's vivo's sub-brand for performance phones, aimed at people who care about speed and gaming more than camera work.

The first iQOO phone launched in China in March 2019, and the brand arrived in India in February 2020.

This page covers iQOO. vivo's own X Series, and its Y and V Series, have their own pages under vivo.

Who owns iQOO?

vivo does. GSMArena described iQOO as a vivo sub-brand when its first phone launched in March 2019, and was still calling it the vivo sub-brand in November 2024.

You can see the link on iQOO's own India site. The copyright line there belongs to vivo Mobile India Pvt Ltd.

vivo itself is vivo Mobile Communication Co., Ltd., based in Dongguan, China. The press often places vivo in the same group as OPPO under the BBK Electronics name, but vivo doesn't publish that structure.

When did iQOO start?

In March 2019, in China. GSMArena reported that month that vivo's sub-brand iQOO had launched its first phone, the vivo iQOO, a gaming phone with a Snapdragon 855 chip.

India came next. iQOO India launched the iQOO 3 on 25 February 2020, at the same time as the Chinese launch.

iQOO's India site now runs its own online store, alongside Amazon.in.

What is iQOO good at?

Performance. iQOO's own India site sums up the pitch as More Performance, More Power, More Innovation.

That's been the brief from the start. The first iQOO phone was sold as a gaming phone, and the brand's own tagline still puts performance first.

If you want a phone picked for speed and games, iQOO is aimed at you.

What phones does iQOO sell?

Three main lines. The numbered iQOO phones, such as the iQOO 15, sit at the top, with the Neo and Z lines below them.

In October 2026, iQOO's India site listed the iQOO 15 and 15R, the Neo 10, and several Z phones including the Z11 and Z11x.

On Brandligo, the iQOO numbered series and iQOO Neo each have their own product pages.

iQOO or vivo: which should you buy?

Pick iQOO if speed and gaming come first. That's what the sub-brand exists for.

Pick one of vivo's own ranges if you want something other than a performance-first phone. The vivo X Series and the vivo Y and V Series each have their own page here.

They share a parent, so service networks can overlap. Ask locally which centres handle iQOO repairs.

Where can you buy iQOO, and what should you check?

Mostly online, at least in India. GSMArena reported in November 2024 that iQOO had sold its India-launched phones through its own website and Amazon.in, with plans to add vivo-exclusive stores and other retail channels.

Check availability in your country first. iQOO's launches have centred on China and India, and it isn't sold everywhere.

Check the exact model and the update promise, and confirm where repairs are handled before you buy.
