Tazah is a B2B marketplace for fresh produce in Pakistan, buying from farmers and selling to retailers in place of the commission agents between them.

Tazah buys fruit and vegetables from farmers and sells them to retailers. The interesting part is what it leaves out: the chain of commission agents and wholesalers that normally stands between a Pakistani grower and a shop, each taking a margin and none of them telling the farmer what the produce eventually sold for. Removing intermediaries from agriculture is an old idea that usually founders on logistics, because someone still has to move perishable goods quickly and at the right temperature. Tazah's argument is that a marketplace which also handles the movement can pay the farmer more and charge the retailer less at the same time, and that the information asymmetry is where most of the spread was going. The company was founded in August 2021 by Abrar Bajwa and Mohsin Zaka, both previously at Careem. It is headquartered in Lahore and has reported operations in Karachi. Its pre-seed round closed at USD 6.5 million - USD 2 million announced in October 2021 and a further USD 4.5 million that December - and was described at the time as the largest pre-seed raised by a Pakistani company.
