Flipdish
Flipdish gives restaurants their own ordering website, app and kiosks, so orders arrive without a marketplace taking a commission on every one of them.
About Flipdish
Flipdish builds ordering technology that a hospitality business owns rather than rents. A restaurant gets its own branded website, its own app and, increasingly, self-service kiosks in the room - and the order comes in without a delivery marketplace taking a cut and, just as importantly, without the marketplace keeping the customer relationship. The commission is the obvious argument and the customer data is the deeper one. A restaurant selling through an aggregator does not learn who its regulars are, which makes every subsequent order something it has to buy again. The company was founded in 2015 in Dublin by brothers Conor and James McCarthy. It raised a USD 100 million round backed by Tiger Global, Tencent and Enterprise Ireland among others, which took it past a billion-dollar valuation, and is reported to operate in around 25 countries.
