No Galaxy Book7 has been announced. Samsung has published no name, no date, no processor and no price, and none are invented here. The current range is the Galaxy Book6, introduced at CES 2026 and on sale in the United States from 11 March 2026 in three models starting at 1,049.99, 1,599.99 and 2,449.99 dollars. Samsung has introduced a Galaxy Book generation at CES in January for three years running, so a January 2027 introduction fits the record. There is one genuine open question hanging over the next generation that matters more than any leaked specification, and it is not about the processor. Reporting suggests Samsung is working on Galaxy Book laptops that run Android rather than Windows. If that lands, the name on the box may cover two quite different machines, and this page sets out what is confirmed and what is not.

What Samsung has confirmed

Nothing about a Galaxy Book7. No model names, no processors, no screen sizes, no prices and no date.

The timing pattern is short but consistent. Samsung introduced the Galaxy Book4 at CES 2024, the Book5 at CES 2025 and the Book6 at CES 2026, with retail availability following some weeks later in each case. On that record, a January 2027 introduction with spring availability is a reasonable expectation.

Three years is a short pattern to lean on, and Samsung has changed the shape of this range before, adding and removing Pro, Ultra, 360 and Edge variants between generations. Which models exist in a Galaxy Book7 range is not predictable from the Book6 range.

The open question: Windows or Android

The interesting uncertainty about the next Galaxy Book is not the chip inside it but the operating system on it.

SamMobile reports that Samsung is developing three Android based Galaxy Book variants, described as low end, mid range and flagship, running Android 17 based One UI 9 with Galaxy AI features and an improved Samsung DeX. The same report frames these as sitting alongside the existing Windows laptops rather than replacing them, as part of bringing Samsung's devices onto more consistent software.

The sourcing deserves a caveat. SamMobile presents this as exclusive information without naming sources, analysts or any Samsung statement, so it is a claim of insider knowledge rather than confirmed reporting. Samsung has said nothing publicly.

If it is right, the practical consequence for a buyer is real. An Android laptop does not run the Windows software you already own, and a machine bought on the strength of the Galaxy Book name could turn out to be a different kind of computer. Check the operating system before ordering any future model.

The Galaxy Book6 range on sale now

Three models, and the gaps between them are wide.

The Galaxy Book6 is the entry model at 1,049.99 dollars, with a 14 inch display.

The Galaxy Book6 Pro starts at 1,599.99 dollars and comes in 14 and 16 inch sizes. 9to5Google lists Pro configurations with the Intel Core Ultra 7 356H, 16GB or 32GB of memory and 512GB or 1TB of storage.

The Galaxy Book6 Ultra starts at 2,449.99 dollars, is 16 inch only, and ships with 32GB of memory and 1TB of storage. Graphics are the real choice here: 9to5Google reports an Intel Arc B390 option and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 option, the latter paired with an Intel Core Ultra X7 358H. 9to5Google also notes the number pad has been removed on the Ultra models as part of a design refresh.

All models use Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors built on Intel 18A, with a neural processing unit Samsung rates at up to 50 TOPS, and all run Windows 11 with Galaxy AI features layered on. Samsung said a Galaxy Book6 Enterprise Edition would follow in late spring 2026.

What the Galaxy Book is actually for

The case for a Galaxy Book over a Dell, a Lenovo or an Apple laptop is rarely the hardware. On processors, memory and screens these machines sit in the same territory as everything else at the price.

The case is the other Samsung devices you own. Multi Control lets one keyboard and trackpad drive a Galaxy phone or tablet, with copy, paste and drag and drop between them. Second Screen turns a Galaxy Tab into an additional display. Link to Windows and Samsung's Quick Share fill in the file and message handling. If you carry a Galaxy phone and a Galaxy Tab, these features do real work every day.

If you do not own other Samsung hardware, most of that value does not apply, and the laptop should be judged against rivals purely on screen, keyboard, battery and price.

That calculation would not change with a Galaxy Book7, and it is the right way to approach the range whatever Samsung announces.

Who should buy something else

If you do not own a Galaxy phone or tablet, buy on the merits of the machine rather than the badge. The integration features are the main reason to choose this range and they need the other devices to matter.

If you want a gaming laptop, the Ultra with the RTX 5060 is a capable machine in a thin body, but dedicated gaming laptops at that money offer more graphics power and better cooling.

If you rely on a number pad, note that 9to5Google reports it has been removed from the Ultra models.

If you are holding out for a Galaxy Book7 specifically, the honest position is that Samsung has not acknowledged it, the operating system it might run is unsettled, and the Galaxy Book6 is already discounting.

And if a page is listing Galaxy Book7 processors or prices, it is guessing. Samsung has published neither.
