Manna delivers small orders by drone: takeaway food, groceries, pharmacy items, flown a few kilometres and lowered to the customer rather than driven there. The case for it is that a three-kilometre delivery by van is an absurdly heavy way to move a coffee and a sandwich, and that the constraint on doing it any other way has always been regulatory rather than technical. The company was founded in 2018 by Bobby Healy and is headquartered in Dublin. RTE reported it passing 250,000 deliveries in January 2026. In June 2026 it announced it was ending delivery operations in Ireland, citing planning difficulties, and concentrating on the United States, the United Kingdom and other international markets. Its research, manufacturing, flight testing, operations and regulatory functions stay in Ireland, in Glasnevin and Offaly, and the company said it intends to grow them. That is the position as of mid-2026 and is worth checking before relying on it.
