About Arga Labs

Arga Labs builds sandboxes for testing software that talks to other software. Every pull request gets its own environment, containing stateful twins of the third-party services the application depends on and in-memory versions of its database and cache. The problem it addresses is specific and recent. Agents write a great deal of code now, and they are much better at writing it than at proving it works. Running generated end-to-end tests against mocks proves very little; running them against production is not an option. A sandbox that behaves like the real thing sits in between, and failures go back to the agent to fix before anybody sees them. The company was founded in 2026 by Phillip Li and Akira Tong, went through Y Combinator's Spring 2026 batch, and is based in San Francisco.
