Hiring a software development company in Dubai

Most Dubai software companies fall into one of three groups. Knowing which one you're talking to tells you more than any sales deck.

  • Local studios. Small teams with most or all of their people in Dubai. Easy to meet, usually focused on a few kinds of project.
  • Gulf firms with offshore delivery. Head office and sales in Dubai, engineering in India, Pakistan or Egypt. Often good value, as long as you know who's building what.
  • AI and product consultancies. Smaller, senior teams that design and build AI features, agents and data products rather than general software.

What it costs

On the public profiles of firms listed here, hourly rates sit mostly between 25 and 49 US dollars, with product-focused studios at 50 to 99. Minimum projects range from around 1,000 dollars at small agencies to 25,000 dollars and up at firms that work with funded startups and enterprises. Give every shortlisted firm the same written brief, or the quotes won't be comparable.

What to check in the UAE

  • Where your data lives. The UAE has a federal personal data protection law, and banks, healthcare and government projects often have stricter hosting rules on top. Ask which cloud region your system will run in.
  • Arabic support. If staff or customers use Arabic, plan right-to-left screens, Arabic search and bilingual reports from day one.
  • ERP and accounting. Plenty of Dubai firms implement Odoo or connect to SAP and other ERPs. If your project touches finance or inventory, ask for a similar integration they've already shipped.
  • Trade licence. A Dubai company should hold a valid licence, mainland or free zone. Check which entity actually signs your contract.
  • Ownership. Source code, cloud accounts, domains and credentials should be in your company's name, with a written handover plan if you change provider.

Working hours

The UAE is on UTC+4 all year. Delivery teams in India and Pakistan are an hour or so ahead, so the working day barely shifts. Most of Europe overlaps through the afternoon, and US projects usually need a late shift.
