Input lag and response time are not the same thing
One of the most common mistakes in this comparison is putting a monitor’s pixel response time beside a projector’s input-lag number as if they measured the same thing.
Pixel response time describes how quickly a display pixel changes state. Input lag describes how long the display system takes to show a change after receiving the signal. Both affect the experience, but they are different measurements and should not be compared directly.
Modern OLED gaming monitors can advertise extremely fast pixel-response figures, while gaming projectors can advertise very low input lag in specific high-refresh modes. The important word is specific. A projector may have one latency figure at 1080p/240Hz and a different one at 4K/60Hz.

Refresh rate: compare the resolution at the same time

Does a projector automatically feel more immersive?
No. Screen size alone does not determine immersion. Viewing distance changes how much of your field of view the display occupies, so a smaller monitor viewed close up can fill a similar portion of your vision to a much larger screen viewed from across a room.

OLED displays can experience permanent image retention under some usage patterns, especially with repeated static interface elements. Actual risk varies with panel generation, protection features, brightness, content and usage. Warranty treatment also varies by manufacturer and model, so do not assume all OLED gaming monitors include the same burn-in coverage.
Projectors do not have OLED-style burn-in, but that does not mean they have no long-term risks.
