No price announced

Nothing here is official. vivo has made no announcement about the phone that follows the X300 family. There has been no launch event, no press release and no product page. The name X500 turns up in network certification filings and in the GSMA device database, and outlets have run with it, but vivo itself has said nothing about the phone, its parts or its date. What exists today is the X300 family. vivo confirmed a 13 October 2025 launch in China for the X300 and X300 Pro. The line widened through 2026: vivo showed the X300 Ultra at MWC in Barcelona, then officially revealed a 30 March 2026 China launch for the X300 Ultra and X300s, and announced the X300 Ultra's global release on 15 April 2026 with the ZEISS Master Lenses Collection. The release pattern is what gives the window here. The X100 arrived in China in November 2023, the X200 series launched on 14 October 2024, and the X300 series on 13 October 2025. Three generations in three years, the last two within a day of each other in mid-October. Some reports point at a September 2026 debut instead. That is a report, not a date, so this page stays with the broad window.

Part of the X Series line, which is on sale now.

About vivo X500 Series

vivo has now confirmed the X500 Series for a September 2026 launch in China. The announcement changes this page from a rumor watch to an announced-product page, but it does not make the phones available to buy yet. vivo product manager Han Boxiao identified three models in the first launch group: X500, X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max. He also said the new generation will focus heavily on imaging and video. No official retail price or sale date has been published yet, so this page does not list either one.

What vivo has officially confirmed

On August 24, 2026, reports quoting vivo product manager Han Boxiao said the X500 Series will launch in China in September. The confirmed first wave consists of the vivo X500, X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max. That is the key change from the earlier state of this listing, when the X500 name existed only in certification and database records.

The company has also started talking about the camera direction of the new generation. The Pro models are being positioned around a new ZEISS Ultra Dynamic Main Camera developed with vivo's imaging team and Sony. vivo is highlighting very high dynamic range and stronger video capability as the main upgrade area.

Those points are official launch information, but many hardware details circulating elsewhere are still leaks. Until vivo publishes full product pages, specifications that have not been confirmed by the company should not be treated as final.

What is still not confirmed

vivo has not yet published final China retail prices, a normal purchase page, or a confirmed first-sale date for the X500 Series. Because of that, there is no honest buying link to add yet and no price should be presented as official.

Reports also contain expected chipset, battery, camera and display details. Those may eventually prove accurate, but certification records and tipster claims are not the same as a manufacturer specification sheet. This page therefore keeps those details out until vivo releases them directly.

The same caution applies to international availability. The September window is for China. A global or India launch may follow later, but vivo has not published a complete international rollout timetable.

How it fits into vivo's X Series

The X500 Series follows the X300 family, which vivo launched in China in October 2025 and expanded during 2026 with additional models. The X Series is vivo's camera-focused flagship smartphone range, with much of its identity built around imaging hardware, ZEISS collaboration and premium display and performance components.

The naming jump to X500 had already appeared in certification and database reporting before today's announcement. With the name now confirmed by vivo management, the main open questions are no longer whether the line exists, but exactly how the three launch models differ and when buyers outside China will be able to order them.

Should you wait for it

If you are specifically shopping for vivo's newest camera flagship and can wait until September, the X500 Series is now close enough to launch that waiting makes sense. The most important reasons are the confirmed imaging focus and the addition of an X500 Pro Max model to the initial lineup.

If you need a phone now, the X300 family remains the current released generation. It has known pricing, real retail availability and fully published specifications, which makes it a much safer comparison than relying on leaked X500 details.

Anyone shopping outside China should also avoid assuming the Chinese launch price or configuration will match their local market. Storage options, software, bands, bundled accessories and pricing can differ between regions, so the useful time to make a purchase comparison will be after vivo publishes local product pages.

Who should buy something else

Buy something else now if you need a phone immediately, need a confirmed international warranty, or want to compare exact prices today. The X500 Series is announced but not yet released, and the missing details are the ones that matter most at checkout.

It is also better to avoid preorder offers from unofficial sellers that present leaked specifications or estimated prices as final. Until vivo opens official sales, the current X300 generation or another already released flagship gives you a product with verified hardware, support terms and purchase options.
