About Vidyard

Vidyard hosts video for businesses and reports on who watched it, for how long, and where they stopped. That last part is the product: a marketing team can host a video anywhere, but knowing that a particular prospect watched eighty per cent of a demo yesterday is a sales signal rather than a statistic. The company started out making videos rather than hosting them, and became a platform when it turned out the analytics were the part customers could not get elsewhere. It now also covers recording and sharing, so a salesperson can send a personal video as easily as an email. Vidyard was founded in 2011 by Michael Litt and Devon Galloway, who studied systems design engineering at the University of Waterloo and started the company from their fourth-year design project. They went through Y Combinator and came back to Kitchener, Ontario, where it is still headquartered, with hubs in the United States and the United Kingdom.
