Nothing about a realme 17 has been announced. realme has not confirmed the name, a date or any hardware. Reports about a 200MP camera and a second half of 2026 launch are leaks, so none of it is recorded here. The current generation is the realme 16 Pro and 16 Pro+, which realme announced itself and launched on 6 January 2026, starting in China and India. realme confirmed a 200MP portrait camera across the series, four finishes including Master Gold and Master Grey designed by Naoto Fukasawa, and a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 in the Pro+. The realme Pad 3 and Buds Air 8 launched at the same event. No window is given here, for two reasons. First, the recent history is short: the realme 15 series arrived in July 2025 and the realme 16 Pro in January 2026, which suggests roughly six months but is only two points. Second, and more important, several outlets reported in 2026 that realme cancelled its GT 9 and Neo 9 series and stopped smartphone production in China, with the numbered series continuing in markets outside China. Those are reports rather than a realme statement, but they mean the schedule for this line cannot be treated as settled.
