vivo makes phones led by the X series, whose cameras are developed with Zeiss, plus the performance-focused iQOO sub-brand and a large value range.

Xiaomi builds phones, a large connected-home range and, since 2024, electric cars. It reached scale by selling hardware at thin margins and making its money on everything around it.

ZTE builds telecommunications network equipment and sells phones, routers and mobile broadband devices alongside it.
