This includes processing data as described in our Privacy Notice. You retain full ownership of your content, and Mozilla does not claim any rights beyond what is needed to fulfill your requests.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"694\" data-end=\"804\"><strong data-start=\"696\" data-end=\"724\">Policy Reference Removed<\/strong>: We\u2019ve removed the reference to the Acceptable Use Policy to avoid confusion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"806\" data-end=\"830\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Privacy_FAQ_Update\"><\/span>Privacy FAQ Update<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"831\" data-end=\"1173\">We\u2019ve also updated our Privacy FAQ to clarify the legal nuances of data practices, particularly around the term \u201cselling.\u201d Mozilla does not sell your personal data in the way most people think. However, privacy laws such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brandligo.com\/blog\/how-big-are-imax-screens-exploring-the-world-of-imax-technology\/\">California<\/a> Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) define &#8220;sale&#8221; in broad terms, including sharing data in certain contexts.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1175\" data-end=\"1196\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Why_the_Change\"><\/span>Why the Change?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1197\" data-end=\"1670\">Some jurisdictions consider data sharing a \u201csale,\u201d even without direct payment. For example, CCPA defines a sale as transferring, disclosing, or making data available in exchange for \u201cmonetary or other valuable consideration.\u201d Similar privacy laws exist in Virginia, Colorado, and other states. Given these evolving legal interpretations, we\u2019ve updated our language to reflect the reality of how privacy laws work while maintaining our commitment to protecting user data.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1672\" data-end=\"2092\">To keep Firefox commercially viable, we share limited, de-identified, or aggregated data with partners for features such as sponsored suggestions in search and optional ads on the New Tab page. Our Privacy Notice fully details these practices, and we take extensive steps to ensure that shared data is stripped of any personally identifiable information or processed through privacy-preserving technologies like OHTTP.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2094\" data-end=\"2112\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Your_Control\"><\/span>Your Control<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2113\" data-end=\"2359\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Firefox is built with strong privacy protections by default, and we provide users with clear options to adjust their data settings at any time.
