ViewSonic lists approximately 37 ms input lag, which may be acceptable for casual play but is not competitive with modern gaming projectors built around much lower-latency modes. The old page also treated high brightness as proof of strong performance in any well-lit environment. Brightness helps, but ambient light, screen material, room geometry and image size all affect usable contrast.

Is the PX747-4K still worth using?

If you already own one and the lamp, color wheel, fan and inputs are healthy, there is no reason to replace it simply because newer models exist. Its 3,500-ANSI-lumen rating and 4K UHD output can still make it useful for movies, sports and general viewing in a controlled room.

For a second-hand purchase, check lamp hours, brightness uniformity, color-wheel noise, fan noise, HDMI reliability, dust or optical artifacts, remote availability and the cost of a genuine replacement lamp. Also confirm that its 1.47–1.76 throw ratio fits your room before buying.

Where current buyers should look instead

BrandLigo now separates projector recommendations by use case instead of treating one older model as suitable for everyone.

For current cinema-focused choices, see Best 4K Home Theater Projectors in 2026.

For newer low-latency choices, see Best Projectors for Gaming in 2026.

For lower-cost 4K options, see Best 4K Projectors Under $1,000 in 2026.

For resolution trade-offs, see 4K Projector vs 1080p in 2026.

For workplace and procurement requirements, see Best Projectors for Business Presentations 2026.

Bottom line

The PX747-4K remains a useful legacy reference, especially for owners or buyers evaluating a used unit. For a new purchase in 2026, compare current projectors by room, gaming requirements, light source, installation and total ownership cost rather than relying on this older model’s original marketing position.

A factual legacy reference for the ViewSonic PX747-4K, covering verified 4K UHD output, 3,500 ANSI lumens, lamp life, throw ratio, 37 ms input lag, ownership checks, and current projector alternatives.

[105
1080
post-18712","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-projector","tag-viewsonic-px747-4k-projectors
["GET
